5 Things to do in Palm Springs

Palm Springs is the type of destination that has something for everyone. As Los Angelinos, it is one of our favorite weekend getaways, and for a number of reasons. When the weather is poor in LA, we will often head out to Palm Springs either for a nice day trip, or a simple romantic getaway. So here is our list of 5 things to do in Palm Springs:

Rent a house

Whether you’re from LA or out of town, renting a house in Palm Springs for the weekend can make for a lovely vacation (or for us, staycation). The houses in Palm Springs are generally large, ranch style houses. Most of the nicer houses (especially the vacation rentals) tend to be on or near golf courses and generally have a pool & jacuzzi.

Our Palm Springs vacation rental of choice is located in Indian Canyon and is an expansive 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, ranch-style house with a beautiful backyard offering a pool, jacuzzi, fire pit, and a plethora of lounge chairs to enjoy the desert sun. For an average of about $450/night, this house is an absolute STEAL. It sleeps 6 comfortably and is set up wonderfully for entertaining guests.

Hadley’s Date Shake

Hadley’s is an imperative stop anytime you’re heading in or out of the Coachella Valley. The juxtaposition of Hadley’s next to an In n Out seems almost planned. Perhaps you need to stop for both? Be sure to get a large date shake, and be sure to get the one with banana and then add in cinnamon and nutmeg!

Pamper Yourself

Whatever floats your boat. Want to spend a day on the golf course? Palm Springs has some of the best courses in the world. Hoping to spend a day at the spa getting a massage? Palm Spings is littered with world class spas. Or perhaps you just want to lay by the pool? Revert back to #1, rent a house and just relax.

There’s nothing quite as romantic as kissing in a field of dildo shaped art work. Is it Coachella 2018 yet?! Not sure I can wait a whole year.

Music Festivals

There are now a few options for music festivals in the Coachella Valley. April offers 3 weekends of back-to-back-to-back music with 2 weekends of Coachella and 1 weekend of Stagecoach. Other events along with pool parties at the local hotels are spread intermittently throughout the summer, and the festival season is now closed out with Desert Trip in October.

EAT

Palm Springs has a TON of great food options from steak houses to great Mexican food and even sushi restaurants. The desert is littered with amazing cuisine that spans just about every culture one could expect.
